Am i wrong to expect more? Shld i also move on rather than expect him to b there 4 me?

I have gone out with this guy 4 a couple of years. When i met him i was a single mom of 1 & am also 9 years older than him. This year around May, we got engaged & had agreed to get married to which his Dad refused compeletely. Later that month we learnt that i was pregnant. My boyfriend was very happy & he decided no mater what his parents say, we were going to get married. But sadly this didnt happen coz he got so much pressure from his dad that we ended up breaking up & going separate ways. Last month we met again & i realized he had not moved on & had told his parents that he was never gonna get married... He even stil had the engagement ring he'd taken from me when we broke up. Now on 5th of this month, i gave birth to his son. He was an overjoyed father but the minute he told his folks about it, they told him to get a paternity test to b sure that my baby is really his. I could not believe it. His sisters & brothers love me so much apart from the folks. He keeps saying that if his dad met me he wld change his mind about me coz am a nice person. Then the other day we had this talk. He told me that he loves me so much but may not b able to marry me because of his parents & so he asked me to promise that i'l neva get married to which i did. The problem with him is that anytime he talks to his folks, he seems to have a change of attitude towards me & i hate his hot temper. Now it feels like i got a raw deal and regret promising neva to get married... Pliz advice
