Physics questions-- if you figure it out youre a genius!?

i don't about the first one, but steel hulled boats can float, despite their miveness because they spread the weight out over a large volume. the buoyant force acting on the boat is equal to (density of water displaced by the boat) x (gravity (9.8)) x (volume of water displaced)
