Does anyone know of some good articles about meltdowns in young adults with Aspergers?
My just turned 20 year old son has Aspergers. He is involved in an educational program for young people who are considered "at risk". He and my foster son are the only ones with ASD in the program. My son, who also has severe anxiety and migraines that are related to stress, enjoys the program but has a terrible time with meltdowns. The teachers and other staff try their best but are getting very frustrated with my sons migraines and meltdowns. Today one woman said she was worried my son "wasn't going to be successful might be excluded" from the program because he has missed at least one day a week all month due to stress, migraines and melt downs. I would like to find some articles that explain Aspergers and meltdowns that I can give to the staff of the program to hep them understand the meltdowns and migraines are not "bad" behavior on the part of my son but a part of his disability.
